National Gardens Weekend - 14th/15th of June

For the first time, the National Gardens Scheme has invited as many gardens as possible to take part in a unique festival of great gardens, large and small to open for charity.
A total of 800 gardens are open all over the country, so wherever you are, there will be lots of choice of gardens to visit. Their website is: www.ngs.org.uk
If you visit their site and put in your postcode, you can find something like 29 gardens within a 25 mile radius open this weekend.
Meanwhile at home, would my garden pass the rigorous test to be entered for the NGS?
Aquilegias are in full bloom at the moment:

The pond is a bit new and bleak:
But there are fabulous poppies at the moment:

And a few vegetables and woodstores:

  1. I am so thrilled that the NGS are supporting Parkinson's Disease nurses as part of their charitable focus this year. So please support the open gardens scheme. Jane Asher ( president of PD UK) has also offered a lovely cake recipe to celebrate the Open gardens event. http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/about_us/news/news_items/all_news/national_gardens_festival.aspx
Thanks Linda for raising the profile of this event.
