End of Summer at Swindon's Glorious Central Library-1st of September and a talk by Nikita Lalwani on 3rd September

There's so much going on at Swindon's Central Library apart from being able to borrow books, use computers and see 10 artists taking part in SOS there, you can also take part in these things:
On the 1st of September, there's a celebration of the 1st of September with a great mix of free activities from 1-3pm. Much more information on the library blog

Followed by an acoustic music session featuring the Pedal Folk, Mr Love and Justice and Rumour Shed- tickets £5.

Sun 1st SeptEnd of Summer at Central. Come and join us in celebrating the ‘End of Summer’. We shall be celebrating the ‘End of Summer’ here at Central Library with an intoxicating mix of Spoken Word, Music & Dance and Art:
From 1-3pm in the Ground Floor Courtyard (FREE entry) we have poetry from The Blue Gate Poets mixed with Asian Dance & Music from SAPAC. Artworks specially created by Monika Tobel (Swindon Artsite) There will also be activities for children such as Face Painting, Origami, ‘Share a Story’ and Crafts. All welcome!
From 3.15-5.30pm in the 2nd Floor Reading Room there will be a superb Afternoon Acoustic Session headlined by Pedal Folk who will be ably supported by Rumour Shed and Mr Love & Justice. Many of you may have seen Pedal Folk at our last ’Occasional Music Evening’ event so you know that a treat is in store. Tues 3rd Sept: Nikita Lalwani - Author’s Talk and Book Signing Event 7.15pm
Nikita Lalwani is an extremely talented young writer. Her two novels have gained glowing reviews from the likes of The Independent, The Guardian, The Telegraph as well as The Washington Post. She has been nominated for many literary awards and is certainly an author to keep an eye on. She will be here to talk about her writing and will be signing books on the night.  Tues 27th August Panchatantra Children’s Workshop. Very interesting event suitable for children 5-11yrs of age. Children will be involved in crafting Panchatantra stories and poems to introduce them to the Ancient Fables of India. The workshop will take place at three SBC libraries – West Swindon (Tel: 01793 465555), North Swindon (Tel: 01793 707120) and Central Library (01793 463782) Please call the appropriate library for full details.
