Linda Black's Landing Arts Gallery Exhibition and activities associated with the Swindon Festival of Poetry

As part of The Swindon Festival of Poetry, a four-day celebration of poetry running from 3rd-6th October. 
Linda Black has an exhibition of words and pictures and is involved with 2 of her own events:

A sequence of nineteen prose poems based on the early life of Hans Christian Andersen is illustrated by the poet and artist Linda Black, with drawings and prints that draw on her new book, The Son of a Shoemaker, published by Hearing Eye. Other work and etchings are also included in the exhibition.

We are all adept at finding and using words but where and how do we find them? Working with collage is one way of arriving at your first draft, of sourcing and developing a starting point by freeing your mind from the usual contexts, and exploring the use and appropriation of words which aren't actually your own.

This workshop accompanies the exhibition on the Landing Gallery and is an opportunity to produce a collage poem in either prose or verse form.
