Finding Your way Around Swindon Open Studios - 1. The Central Library

This is the first of my 'aides' to getting round as many artists as possible over the two weekends. I will be visiting everyone on the second Saturday along with the other two committee members, so it can be done in a day, just.
Anyone can start wherever they want, but for ease, I'm starting in the Central Library where there are nine artists. In the 'drum' there will be Rachel Coyle who makes fabulous fused glass pieces:
Also in the drum will be Margaret Sadler with a selection of lovely mixed media pieces and cards, below part of a piece called 'Across the Fields':
Moving into the library Bardwell and Baskerville have fabricated females on the wooden semi circular wooden wall behind the cafe. Here's an example of a fantasy female:
And alongside Sue, Val Gibbons exhibiting for the first time will be showing a selection of garden inspired paintings, the colours in this are glorious; it was considered for the brochure cover:
Also in the library are Bee Operanto who will have a mixture of 3D and 2D work, here's Dylan:
Anna Kaplan, has considered whether she can hang her bold, exciting paintings on the first floor, so am not sure where she will be. Here's a painting of a baby bird she found:
Into the corridor area behind the cafe where there will be an exhibition of work by all 9 artists on the wall which will remain there for the whole of September.
The 3 remaining artists will be sharing the corridor space. Carmen B Norris produces mixed media paintings, collages, prints cards and handmade books:
Ushma Sergeant will be showing paintings and photographs she has made, including this stunning image:
Carole Humphries really puts the hours into her pictures with some finely detailed drawings and paintings:
So plenty of interesting artists to meet making varied and beautiful work.
