Visiting David Bent's Studio

David Bent's studio was open the first weekend, and we went round taking photos the second, so we arranged a special visit during the week.
We spent a lovely, leisurely time wandering around the lovely studio and garden.
The great feature of open studios is it gives people chance to talk to each other. Keen SOS visitors, Steph and Ned told me that they spend up to 2 hours in each studio, so I thought I'd start with photos of Jane and David talking to each other.
Above Carole, David's wife joining in, and below David noticing he's being photographed

Here are 2 shots of the long part of the studio:

and below one of David's 'Movement 2000' pictures
And here's the painting that's generating a lot of excitement at the moment, the Bournemouth Beach painting incorporating the Red Arrows:

Dave is Bournemouth Air Festivals 1st Official Artist in Residence !

Quote from Air Festival Director :
“We are truly excited to be hosting David Bent as our first official artist in residence at this summer’s Air Festival. David is world renowned for his leading aviation artwork and we are sure his stunning pieces will capture the Festival’s colour, creativity, vibrancy and unique atmosphere. Equally so we look forward to welcoming him back in 2016 when David displays his outstanding work at the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum” Jon Weaver, Bournemouth Air Festival Director

And an interesting pattern:
No visit to Dave's studio would be complete without including the fab garden features:
What seemed like the biggest sunflower in the world being quickly denuded of it's seeds by the visiting parrot who we didn't see, but whose photo regularly appears on Carole's Facebook page.
Above looking towards the studio, and below one of the nicest sheds I have seen, built by Dave, giving the garden a magical quality
Fab visit, thank you for joining SOS once again.
