Vu:Du Hosts Old Town Gardens Exhibition

The exhibition at Vu:Du at 96, Victoria Road, Old Town, officially opens Thursday 12th February 7pm-9pm; the poster above advertises this fact.
And below information posted on Facebook by Caroline Day, the organiser of the event:

'For many years artists have been inspired by the picturesque beauty of the OldTown Gardens in Swindon. The Old Town Gardens Art Work group was formed on Valentine’s Day 2014. The group aim to share their mutual love of the gardens through the visual arts with the wider community. The community group use Facebook as a social media network in order to develop a collection of inspirational art work and to exhibit their most recent images produced as a direct response to the gardens.

This debut exhibition from five members of the Old Town Gardens Art Work will mark the group’s first year anniversary. We are honoured to have support from Richard James Estate Agents who have enabled us to produce publicity for this show. We are very grateful to Shay Barry at VU:DU Hair Salon and Coffee Shop for collaborating with us and allowing us to exhibit in his newly refurbished café area. We would like to invite anyone with a passion for the Old Town Gardens to attend our preview evening on Thursday the 12th February 2015, 7pm – 9pm and exhibition which continues until Thursday the 12th March 2015. The exhibition will be an opportunity to view and purchase original oil paintings, prints and mixed media work by Caroline Day, Susan Carr, Jane Milner-Barry, Nadine Gould, Terry Humphries and Tim Carroll.

The artists would also fully appreciate the wider community’s support in the form of ‘shares’ and ‘likes’ on our community facebook page ‘Old-Town-Gardens-Art-Work-Swindon’ . If you are a visual artist who also shares a passion for the beauty of the Old Town Gardens you are more than welcome to join our group! We hope more of our members will exhibit together in the near future. We are always interested to learn about funding opportunities or exhibition venues. We were successful in our application to the Swindon Borough Council for a New Shoots Grant and have purchased a gazebo to run art workshops and exhibit by the bandstand in the summer. Please watch out for our art workshops which run in the OTG in conjunction with ‘Town Gardens Little Big Festival ‘(FACEBOOK) from April to September.'

More photos will appear after the opening night.
