Launch of Swindon Open Studios was Great

Well you always worry about whether people will turn up, and whether they'll talk to each other, they did both in buckets tonight. It was a great start to our Swindon Open Studios weekends.
Everyone played their part, Katie Ackrill, Duty Manager at the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, where we held the launch was ready with everything set up wonderfully when we arrived, and helped  when it came time to chuck everyone out.
I took a few photos to show what it was like:
Above Vanetta and Jane waiting for guests to arrive having set everything up, and very quickly lots of people arrived:

We were really lucky that Juliet Wood gave a talk and an official opening of Swindon Open Studios

And Caroline Day very kindly took a couple of photos and sent them to me:
Above me introducing Juliet and realising I hadn't thought what I'd say by way of a proper introduction, and below a lovely photo of Juliet
And here's Pat Elmore talking to the person who made the bronze bust of Diana Dors, I can't remember her name and have found the bust in lots of photographs, including Richard Deacon's father standing beside the bust saying Diana Dors used to take him to school, but her name isn't included.

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the fact that we have a wonderful Open Studios event taking place over the next two weekends. I hope it's the best ever event.
